The Moon Balloon Project:
A creative approach to communication
with patients and nourishing the self

This program is for nurses, doctors, social workers, chaplains, therapists, child life specialists, parents and anyone interested in the care of children. The participants in this offering will LEARN how to build bridges and improve communication with children using drawings and images as tools for creating a safe environment. The participants will DISCOVER how images and symbols can represent feeling that may be too difficult for words. Furthermore, the participants will learn how to EMPOWER children and families to connect ability to heal, even when overwhelmed by circumstances. Finally the participants will learn how to NOURISH themselves within the safe place of art, color and symbols.

Contact Hours: Contact Hours will be awarded for part of the program.

Massachusetts General Hospital (OH-239/10-1-08) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association (OSN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Criteria for successful completion include attendance at the entire event and submission of a completed evaluation form.
